The Walt’s Insulation Guarantee
We’ve been insulating homes across San Jose since 2000, and the guarantee we put behind our work is simple enough to fit on a business card: if it’s not done right, we make it right. That’s the Done Right Promise, and it covers our workmanship for as long as you own your home. No fine print, no prorated schedules, no runaround. Walt Brenner started this company because he got tired of watching contractors disappear after the check cleared. Twenty-five years later, he still answers the phone. If something we installed ever fails because of how we installed it, you call (408) 837-7384 and we come back. That’s the whole deal.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship quality, for life. Every installation we complete (attic insulation, spray foam, blown-in, radiant barrier, crawl space encapsulation, air sealing, wall insulation, removal and replacement) is covered by the Done Right Promise for as long as you own the home.
- Parts and material handling. When we install Owens Corning, Rockwool, Icynene, Johns Manville, CertainTeed, Demilec, Knauf, or GreenFiber products, we stand behind our handling and installation of them. Manufacturer defects follow the manufacturer’s own terms, and we’ll help you file that claim if it ever comes up.
- Cleanup, every time. We leave your home the way we found it, minus the old insulation we hauled out. If we tracked anything in or left debris behind, that’s a call-back on us.
- On-time arrival, or a heads-up. We give you a real arrival window and we hit it. If something beyond our control delays us, you’ll hear from a live person before you have to wonder where we are.
- Honest pricing, locked in. The price we quote is the price you pay. No surprise line items, no “we discovered something” upcharges mid-job unless you approve the change in writing first.
Our Satisfaction Promise
Here’s how it actually plays out if you’re not happy with our work. Step one: you call us. A live person answers, day or night, not a voicemail tree. You tell us what’s wrong. Step two: we schedule a return visit at no trip charge inside our county. One of our background-checked, uniformed technicians comes out, looks at the issue, and we fix it. If the fix is small, it’s done on the spot. If we need to redo a section of insulation, we redo it. You don’t pay for the redo. Step three: if you got a written estimate from another company and you’re not sure it’s fair, bring it to us. We’ll give you a free second opinion, no obligation. Walt Brenner’s name is on the business and he intends to keep it that way. We’d rather lose money on a call-back than lose your trust in the neighborhood.
Licensed & Insured Backing
Any contractor can print “guaranteed” on a flyer. The question is whether they’re still around to honor it. Walt’s Insulation is a California-licensed, insured and bonded contractor with a published address in San Jose, not a post office box and not an 800 number that rings in another state. We’ve been operating under the same ownership since 2000. Our license number is on our website and on every estimate we write, and you’re welcome to look it up before you hire us. Insurance means if something goes wrong on your property, you’re not left holding the bill. Bonding means the state has a financial stake in us doing the job legally. Those aren’t marketing phrases. They’re the paperwork behind every promise on this page. Call (408) 837-7384 and ask us anything about either one. We’ll answer.
What the Done Right Promise Does NOT Cover
We’re upfront about the boundaries, because a guarantee you don’t understand isn’t worth much. The Done Right Promise covers our workmanship and our installation of the materials we supply. It does not cover damage caused by roof leaks, pests chewing through insulation after we leave, rodent re-infestation, or homeowners who go into the attic and trample the blown-in insulation themselves. It doesn’t cover manufacturer defects, though we’ll advocate for you with Owens Corning, Rockwool, Icynene, or whichever brand we installed if that comes up. And it doesn’t cover normal performance changes from things like settling, which happens naturally with some insulation types over many years. If you’re ever unsure whether something is covered, call us. We’ll tell you straight, even if the answer is “that’s on you.”
Why “The One Down the Road” Matters for a Warranty
Our tagline isn’t cute marketing. It’s a statement about accountability. Walt’s Insulation is physically located in San Jose, serving homeowners from Willow Glen to Almaden Valley to Berryessa to Evergreen. When a national chain gives you a warranty, you’re one case number in a call center queue. When we give you the Done Right Promise, you’re dealing with a company whose owner lives here, whose technicians work here, and whose reputation depends on what neighbors say to each other at the farmers market and the school drop-off line. If we do bad work in Campbell or Santa Clara or Cupertino, word gets around. That’s the real enforcement mechanism behind every guarantee we write. We don’t hide from it. We lean into it.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Guarantee
Our workmanship guarantee lasts for as long as you own the home. No expiration, no prorating, no “that was two years ago.” If we installed it and it fails because of our installation, we fix it. Call (408) 837-7384 and a live person will get the process started.
You call us and tell us what’s wrong. We schedule a return visit at no trip charge inside our service county, assess the issue, and make it right under the Done Right Promise. If you got a competing estimate and want a sanity check, we’ll also give you a free second opinion on any written estimate. That’s been standing since we opened.
We stand behind our installation of every product we use, including Owens Corning, Rockwool, Icynene, Johns Manville, CertainTeed, Demilec, Knauf, and GreenFiber. If the material itself fails under the manufacturer’s warranty, we’ll help you file that claim and coordinate the resolution.
Yes. A live person answers every call to (408) 837-7384, day or night, weekends, holidays. No voicemail, no answering service, no “press 2 for warranty claims.” This matters most at 6pm on a Saturday when your attic insulation just got soaked by a roof leak and you need to know what to do next.
If the issue is covered under the Done Right Promise, you don’t pay for the visit and you don’t pay for the fix. If it turns out to be something outside our guarantee, we’ll tell you what we found, what it’ll cost to fix, and you decide. No trip charge inside our service county either way.
If you have a question we didn’t answer here, call (408) 837-7384. That’s the fastest way to get a real answer from a person who actually knows our guarantee, which is everyone who answers the phone at Walt’s Insulation.
